You guys, I am one lucky photographer! I get to take photos for Naina and Josh not once, not twice, but three times in just over a year. Yay! You may remember Naina and Josh from their proposal/engagement at the Inn at Perry Cabin in April, but today you will remember them from their Congressional Club engagement party in Washington, D.C.!
Shortly after Naina and Josh were engaged, I met up with them for drinks to discuss their engagement party. Naina let me know her sister, Tripti, was also engaged to be married, and that their parents were throwing them a joint engagement party Labor Day weekend. How much fun it must be to be engaged at the same time as your sister! And how sweet of Naina and Tripti’s parents to throw them a joint engagement party! I was excited to get to capture these sweet memories for their three families.
I actually got a sneak peek at The Congressional Club this summer when I was there for a Rising Tide Society Tuesdays Together meeting, and once I saw the space in person I was doubly excited to photograph Josh, Naina, Tripti, and Jon’s Congressional Club engagement party there. On top of the incredible history of the club (read about that here), the space is just gorgeous! There’s so much natural light streaming in through the tall windows on the top floor and the decor throughout is classic, unique, and stunning.
I think my favorite part of this Congressional Club engagement party (besides the lively dancing!) was the traditional Hindu engagement ceremony both couples took part in with their families. Each couple exchanged rings, the guys’ mothers wrapped Naina and Tripti in scarves, and each family fed sweets to the betrothed. It was such a wonderful, meaningful way to welcome each other into their families.
Thank you to these three beautiful families for giving me the honor of capturing this special night for you. And it will be wonderful to see you all again for Josh and Naina’s wedding next June!
Thank you to the team who put together a beautiful night!
