Oh my gosh, you guys, we had the best weather this weekend here in the D.C. area! I felt like I was in California! The temperatures were great and there was like zero humidity. I was in heaven! I tried to spend as much time outdoors as I could between working and resting – it was just a fantastic weekend! Funny how much the weather has to do with that…
I kicked off the weekend on Friday second shooting a wedding with Leandra Brown. I can’t wait to share some images from the day later on because it was one of the most emotional days I’ve had photographing a wedding! There were tears streaming down my face multiple times and it was a beautiful reminder of why wedding photography is so important. Lucky for the newlyweds, they had the best weather for their big day as well! It was somewhat humid *but* they had the most amazing sunset and it didn’t rain at all!
Saturday I slept in (as one does after a late wedding night), spent some time outside enjoying the weather, then got ready for Owen’s first birthday party! I’ve had the honor of photographing Owen since he was a newborn (click here to see), so it was exciting getting to take photos at his first birthday celebration:
That evening, in order to enjoy more of the best weather we’ve had in a while, I took Milli for a walk along the GW Parkway at Roosevelt Island. She wasn’t a huge fan of walking in that area because of the plank bridges and the actual bridge, so it was a quick walk, but I took along my camera with the Canon 16-35mm f2.8 lens I rented for the weekend. I covet that lens so much! That’s definitely my next purchase!
Sunday I had brunch with my friend, Rebecca, then went for a massage, and spent the evening talking to a few potential new REHP wedding couples! This next year is looking super exciting!
I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed lots of outdoor time! Cheers to low humidity in July! Have a great week!
