I am literally typing this post when Fun Monday is almost over! It’s 8:45PM and I’m finally sitting down to type it up! Today, much like the rest of my weekend, has been busy in the best way! It takes days and a big weekend like this to remind me how lucky I am to get to do what I love every single day. And I’m so appreciative of that!
The weekend started on Friday with me playing second photographer for Dave McIntosh Photography at a wedding in Pasadena, MD, at a beautiful venue – Celebrations at the Bay. His couple, Hayes and Dan, planned such a jubilant day with so many beautiful details. Here’s are a couple favorites:
Saturday morning and afternoon I worked (#entrepreneurlife) before heading to Nordstrom Rack and um… Good Stuff Eatery. Maybe I had a toasted marshmallow milkshake, no one can really be sure…
Moving on…
Saturday night of this big weekend, I headed to bed a little early, which is tough for this night owl / late riser, but cherry blossoms were beckoning! The day before I was informed that the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler race was Sunday morning and there would be a butt ton of road closures all around the tidal basin. After doing the initial research I was kind of freaking out, doubting how I could still make it happen. Then I dug a little deeper and figured it out! I switched our meeting location and provided my clients a map of the route they should take to get there. I did the same thing myself and it worked out so well! The only dicey part was crossing Independence Avenue, where hundreds of runners whizzed by with no care that pedestrians were waiting to cross the street. I finally took my life in my hands and darted out, probably looking like a total nerd trying to run with my giant camera bag on my back. But I made it! I was finally in the land of the blooms and was so excited! I met my clients for their mini session and it all worked out! Phew!
After that session I headed home to get ready for my next adventure: photographing a surprise proposal in St. Michaels. I’ll save the details of how that came together for their blog post, which should be live tomorrow (yay!), but I was so excited to be there to capture those precious moments in such a picturesque spot:
I ended this big weekend with a super early night, for I had to get up at 6am for two more cherry blossom sessions at the tidal basin this morning. I know Monday isn’t technically the weekend, but whatevs. Here are some sneak peeks from Cori & Rich’s engagement session and Lauren’s family mini.
Phew! That was a big weekend!
Check back tomorrow for Josh & Naina’s proposal story and hopefully Thursday for Cori & Rich’s cherry blossom engagement session. And have yourself a great week while you’re at it!
