Happy Monday! Today I’m sharing what I did over the weekend, including some photos from yesterday’s Alexandria Wedding Showcase in Alexandria, Virginia. The weather outside is dreary, but my memories from this weekend are sunny! haha So cheesy.
Today I’m defining success not by what work I’ve gotten done, but by how great I’m feeling! If you follow me on Facebook (here) and Instagram (here), you know I’ve been struggling with setting a routine for myself now that I work from home full time. I’ve been doing better and better at it as the weeks have gone on, but today I feel extra great after getting up at a decent hour, immediately going for a short run, doing a few quick exercises at home, running an errand, and easing into my breakfast routine slowly. I actually gave myself the morning off after working all weekend, so every day won’t start so slowly, but I feel more refreshed, less anxious, and have a little more inspiration and pep in my step after working out in the morning first thing.
Oh, and I helped rescue a run away dog this morning, so there’s that. Haha! I was coming back from Trader Joe’s, was right by my house, and saw this dog run across the street, heading down the running path. I pulled over, parked the car, and ran after it. A couple other neighbors came by to say they were trying to catch it too but weren’t successful. It finally ran out of eyesight, so I hopped back in the car, drove down the street, parked, and got out again to run after it. She was turning around to look at me when she saw some dogs across the street, darted out in the road towards them (luckily no cars were coming), and the people with the dogs recognized her immediately. The got a hold of her and said they would take her back to her owner. Phew! I just imagined my little Milli running away like that and wanted to do everything I could to make sure that dog was safe!
OK, back to talking about my weekend! Saturday was all snowy, so I decided to get some work done! I finally cracked open this Wedding Guide template I bought a couple years ago and started filling it in. I can’t wait until that’s finished so I can give it to new wedding couples to help them plan and understand their wedding photography! Woot woot!
Yesterday I went to the Alexandria Wedding Showcase and photographed the event on behalf of Alexandria Living Magazine. They were doing a story on the Alexandria Wedding Showcase and needed some photos to go along with it and I was happy to oblige! I took over their Instastories for the day and had a lot of fun meeting vendors and couples. They really went all out and I highly recommend attending next year if you’re planning a wedding in the area or are in the wedding industry in Alexandria. Check out the article from ALM here.
