Happy Monday and happy autumn! It’s finally starting to feel like fall here in the D.C. area. Chillier temps? Check! Gloomy skies? Check! Periodic rain? Check! Leaves on the ground? Check! Lots of family photo sessions? Check! Can’t wait to share some photos taken over the autumn weekend!
I kicked off my autumn weekend on Friday night when I was able to compile the sneak peek photos to send to all the vendors who participated in our styled shoot last week! Everything turned out so beautifully and I was excited to share photos of everyone’s hard work! More sneak peeks to come, but here are a few of my favs:
I’ve dedicated a lot of time to family photo shoots through the month of October and it’s been so much fun meeting local families and seeing some familiar faces! Saturday morning started off with three families, two of which you might recognize from past blog posts. And Saturday evening I met three new families! Can you pick out which two of these adorable babies you’ve seen before?
When I wasn’t photographing families on Saturday, I managed to make it to yoga, took Milli on a walk, and even cooked dinner at home! I’ve been using Blue Apron and love it! I love to cook but hate going to the grocery store. I love creating recipes (I used to have a food blog where I posted my own recipes!), but honestly, that takes so much time. It’s awesome having a box of food delivered to the door, already measured out and ready to go. I still get to cook and eat well, but don’t have to spend time thinking up recipes or grocery shopping, and I feel better knowing no ingredients are going to waste! That’s my lil’ plug for food delivery services! haha
I’ve made meal prep time really fulfilling ‘me’ time. I turn on Pandora, have a dance party while I cook, and give Milli lil’ bites of raw veggies and cheese while I’m cooking. And sometimes have a glass of prosecco 😉
Sunday I was up bright and early for another family sesh. I’ve gotten to photograph this family of four three times now, so it was like a lil’ reunion! haha Sunday evening I met up with the Goldsmith family in St. Mary’s. They always pick the most picturesque spots for their sessions, and this year they did not disappoint! We were at St. Mary’s College, and I felt pretty embarrassed I didn’t know anything about it! The campus is on the grounds of some of the most historic spots in the country! I can’t wait to go back for a tour when the reenactors (is that a word?) are there!
I hope everyone has a great week after their autumn weekend!
