HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!

Back in April I had the honor of working with a group of vendors put together by Bryana King on a styled shoot showcasing her vision for modern minimalist wedding inspiration. Today I’m so excited to share the event after we were featured last week on United With Love! United With Love prides themselves on providing fresh inspiration for D.C. area weddings and IMHO, they do a great job of that!
I’ve been waiting to share the images with this modern minimalist wedding inspiration for a while, so I’m thrilled to finally get the chance now that they’ve been featured on United With Love. Bryana was participating in a mentor program put on by brilliant area wedding planner, Tara Melvin of Perfect Planning by Tara. As part of the program, each up-and-coming wedding planner had the opportunity to orchestrate their own styled shoot. That’s a super smart final exam if you ask me!
Tara & Bryana put together a great group of vendors for this Studeo23 styled shoot to execute Bryana’s vision for modern, minimalist wedding inspiration. She was eager to show you can still have a beautiful & on-trend wedding if you’re working with a conservative budget & I believe she did just that! I loved how bright everything was between the white linens & place settings and the vibrant greenery. She brought in rose gold touches, which were the perfect nod to recent trends & added the perfect bit of color to the minimalist tablescape.
Bryana’s vision pretty much knocked my socks off – you know how much I love white! haha While this wasn’t my typical shooting style since the shoot took place midday in an open brick courtyard (vs. my preferred magic hour light), I was definitely excited to work with these amazing vendors and photograph their beautiful and intricate work. From the table setting, to the florals, and that cake! I was in pretty details heaven!
We were kind of limited to the courtyard for our shoot, but the models, Bryana, and I actually drove to the Alexandria waterfront for some extra photos towards the end of the session. I’m so glad we did because there are so many great portrait options at the waterfront for a couple on their wedding day.
Thank you to Tara, Bryana, and all the other vendors for including me in this shoot!
