You only turn one year old once, right? So might as well do it up! Ava’s mom, Kristen, and her family did a beautiful job planning Ava’s first birthday photos & party in Alexandria, VA, last weekend. There were unicorns, candy, bright colors everywhere, & even a cake to smash! All the trappings of a super fun first birthday party!
Ava is one special little lady, who had friends and family join her from near & far to celebrate her first birthday. Kristen & her mom set up the most colorful, most adorable decor complete with lollipops, Chik-Fil-A, photos of Ava throughout her first year, & even a cake shaped like a unicorn (by Theresa from Sweet Bakes)! Let me tell you, the place not only looked amazing, but smelled amazing with all of that candy & sweets!
Ava made her entrance in dad’s arms, decked out in a colorful tutu & onesie announcing it was her birthday! She was definitely camera ready for her first birthday photos! She walked around from group to group, saying hi to everyone & snacking here & there on avocado – super healthy! haha
The hit of the day was that dessert table! Kids were drawn to that thing like moths to the flame! It was so cute seeing them lined up in front of the table, taking it all in, with wide eyes. I’m sure Kristen is a favorite in their books now!
Finally it was time for the cake smash & Ava’s first taste of sugar in her whole one year of life! We set the cake on the ground & invited her to walk over & give it a try. Kristen showed her how to dig in but Ava seemed unsure… Finally she got her hands messy & Kristen fed her some cake, but overall Kristen & Tucker have a good baby on their hands who didn’t want to make a mess!
Happy birthday to miss Ava Lee! I hope year two is full of just as much love & adventure as year one 🙂
