Another Monday, another Fun Monday post! I hope everyone had a fantastic Father’s Day Weekend! I know I did! I got to photograph a wedding & portraits at several awesome locations with a wonderful second shooter, got my hair did, was introduced to a gorgeous new shooting location, & found time to get some rest. Lemme tell ya about it!
Friday afternoon I met up with Erin of Erin Tetterton Photography so we could carpool to D.C. for the wedding. Kudos to Anna & Charles for their choice in wedding venues & portrait locations! Oh Emm Geeeee. I’m going to tell you more about A + C tomorrow, but for now I will gush over their venues. St. Joseph Catholic Church on Capitol Hill is breathtaking. The high ceilings – painted blue!, the long aisle, the grand alter and side alters. Church wedding perfection. We grabbed some portraits at two quintessential D.C. spots – the Capitol building & the D.C. War Memorial, before cruising back to Mason & Rook for the reception. Google Mason & Rook y’all. It’s adorable! Saturday morning I dragged myself out of bed & made it to my hair appointment with Cutting Edge by Mora somewhat on time. She worked her magic on my creeping roots & I was on my way home to nap before my shoot that evening. Oh, that nap was so good. So.good.
Saturday evening I met up with Joe, Natalie, & their daughter, Maisie, at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Reston (their brilliant idea!). ‘Twas a little humid (read: a lot humid), but the light in the gardens was magical. I stuck around after their shoot to wander the gardens with my camera, taking pictures of flowers. That might be my favorite way to spend ‘me’ time. It was Father’s Day weekend, but my dad was a little under the weather, so I spent the day getting some much needed rest. I slept in, made it to yoga, potted some plant babies, & got started on editing. I can’t wait to share it all with you on the blog tomorrow! Check back Tuesday for Anna & Charles’ wedding, Wednesday for the second post in my series on wedding photography planning, & Thursday for the Dwyer family photos from earlier this spring.
Have a great week everyone!
