Happy Monday!! I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day weekend & is returning to the start of the week bright eyed & bushy tailed after all the celebrating! I had a busy weekend with lots of photo editing, errands, photo shoots, and Mother’s Day fun, so let’s get to it!
I started my Mother’s Day weekend Friday evening on the phone with Comcast. Womp womp. I was super bummed Verizon Fios wasn’t available at my new apartment, and even more bummed when I realized my only choice was Comcast. [All the thumbs down!] The internet service in my apartment was abysmal with the signal dropping out constantly and their customer service isn’t any better. After many long phone calls, my internet seems to be working. Knock on wood. And I was finally able to get some work done! I stayed up super late to catch up on some editing & was glad when my internet worked well enough (definitely not as fast as Fios!) to upload a couple galleries to Pixieset & deliver them to my patiently awaiting clients. Yay!
Saturday morning I made it to yoga – the torture hour, as I’m calling it! haha I attend this class called ‘flexibility focus’ and whew! We sure do get stretched out! From there I ran some errands including picking up a large scale print from Staples. Did you know they do prints up to ? I haven’t tested out the quality for photos, but the graphic print I had made of a file I bought on Etsy turned out beautifully! Highly recommend.
Saturday evening I drove out to McLean for family photos to commemorate Miss Caroline’s 1st birthday. Her entire family was there to celebrate ahead of her birthday party & we were able to capture some beautiful photos of the birthday girl, like this one with her mom:Even the family pets joined in the fun!Sunday, the penultimate day of Mother’s Day weekend, Milli & I drove out to Maryland to meet my mom & brother at the waterfront of the neighborhood where my mom just put a down payment on her new home! We had a little picnic, enjoyed nature, and even got to see where they had just poured the concrete to start my mom’s house! Super exciting. Sunday evening I cruised over to Georgetown to take some maternity photos (Mother’s Day weekend seemed like a great time to take maternity pics!). We walked over to this adorable little park where we found these vibrant, lush peonies in bloom! Aren’t they gorgeous?! (Don’t look too hard – I almost went blind editing these pics! haha There’s so much magenta!) I absolutely adore shooting in Georgetown, because, Georgetown. But I also love shooting there because I know on my way home I get to drive by the waterfront on Rock Creek Parkway at sunset & there are always parking spaces. I like to stop for a few quick shots before making my way home.Check back in tomorrow for some headshots photos, Wednesday for #weddingwednesday, and Thursday for Dance Adventures! Have a great week everyone! <3
