HI, I'M RACHEL!

It’s always a beautiful thing to watch someone you’ve known for years become a parent. The transformation is immediate and complete, and as a non-parent (to human children – Milli counts as my furbaby! haha), it’s so interesting to witness. Such was the case with getting to see Maddy as a new mother to baby Theo when we took his Alexandria newborn photos on Easter Sunday.
You probably remember Maddy & Mark from their Old Town Alexandria maternity photos back in February. We were all prepared to take their new baby’s photos later in April, but Mr. Theodore Jonas had other plans. He just could not wait to meet his mom & dad (and cat, Bandit), so he made his grand entrance on the early side, showing up a full ten days before his due date! Well played, sir.
I popped over to Maddy, Mark, Theo, and Bandit’s adorable row house in Alexandria on Easter Sunday to take photos of the new family in their natural habitat. Mark met me at the door with baby Theo, decked out in his Sunday onesie, all ready for his Alexandria newborn photos! He was so teeny & precious, his little face was the perfect start to my day!
In addition to Maddy being one thrifty, stylish mamma, she is also really great at decorating! She & her friend/neighbor have a blog – Row House Rookies – where they have chronicled their journey & adventures at home ownership – and now I can see why! Baby Theo’s nursery was not only baby friendly, it was exquisitely decorated & totally fit in with the rest of their stylish home.
Maddy has such a quiet confidence about her in general, and it was great to see that continued in action as she got Theo ready for his photo debut. She got him posed for his photos, changed his outfits with care, swaddled him like a boss, & soothed him when he fussed. This little family of three is already completely in sync <3
Congratulations to the new parents & welcome to the world lil’ Theo!
