HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!

I’m excited to share with you these National Mall engagement photos! When I met Kandis & her now fiance, Daniel, they weren’t yet engaged. But I actually thought they were already married! That is how in sync and tight their connection is. They give off a vibe of unity, of closeness and security. So I was surprised when Kandis contacted me to say they’d only recently gotten engaged & wanted me to take their engagement photos!
Kandis & Daniel’s love story is timeless, romantic, and underlined by spontaneity. They met on Kandis’ birthday, and though she had plans with friends, she decided to spend the day with Daniel instead. True, they had just met, but their connection was magnetic, and sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind!
Kandis’ decision certainly seems to have paid off because here they are, in love and engaged! I asked Kandis if she had a particular spot in mind to take their engagement photos and she ended up telling me such a romantic story about their first date. Daniel planned a tour of D.C. at night. They wandered through the monuments and wound up spending hours together at the Lincoln Memorial, talking & getting to know one another. When I read this, I knew it was the perfect place to start for their National Mall engagement photos!
I met Kandis & Daniel bright & early this past weekend, on the steps of the Lincoln where they spent their first date. I love the symmetry of them starting their relationship here and us starting our National Mall engagement photos shoot in the same spot. From there we meandered the mall, stopping at the most picturesque spots to capture images for these two in love, in sync love birds.
Thank you to Kandis & Daniel for giving me the honor of capturing this portion of your love story. I know there are many more happy chapters to come <3
