HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
When I first spoke with Colleen about the vision for her wedding, she started by telling me about this event. She said she and her fiancé wanted a big party! She didn’t even want to refer to it as a reception, so from then on, we called it a wedding party. Today on the blog, the story of Colleen & Chris’ Georgetown wedding reception… er, I mean, party!
Colleen & Chris said’ I do’ two days before their Georgetown wedding reception, at the historic & quaint 1789 Restaurant. They wanted to soak up the experience of each occasion & thought a great way to do that was to split the events into separate evenings. So smart! And I think it worked. Colleen & Chris seemed to really enjoy spending time with their close family at the ceremony & with each of their guests at the party.
Saturday evening, just two days after their ceremony, Colleen & Chris’ friends & family joined them at City Tavern Club on M Street for their Georgetown wedding reception, or party, I should say. Dinner was held in an intimate dining room on the ground level, and guests enjoyed cocktails & dancing on the upper level. They even had the French doors open to a terrace off the dance floor since the weather was so nice!
Between the thoughtful toasts & the laughter of this evening, it was such a special occasion. Colleen & Chris were joined at the hip as they made their way around the party, greeting their guests. After dinner everyone made their way upstairs for dessert & coffee and lots of dancing! Even Colleen’s grandmother hit the dance floor! Everyone formed a circle around her & cheered as she busted a move!
Congratulations to Colleen & Chris! And best wishes for a beautiful life together. If it’s anything like the fun you had at this party, you’re in for lots of happiness!
