HI, I'M RACHEL!

From what I’ve seen, the cherry blossoms are still going strong! With peak bloom about a week ago, they are starting to fade a little, but if you ask me, all of the pink petals on the ground just adds to the beauty they bestow on us! I’m excited to share my last D.C. cherry blossoms family photos of the season with you today!
I so admire my clients who are willing to get up bright & early to trek down to the tidal basin to have their photos taken with the cherry blossoms – and have a great attitude about it! If you live in the D.C. area or have ever traveled to the tidal basin, you know it’s not the easiest place to get to. That plus the unpredictable early spring weather, the inevitable crowds, and the fact that we shoot first thing in the morning makes these sessions only for the bravest of heart! The pay off is so worth it though, as you’ll see today in these D.C. cherry blossoms family photos.
You may remember Gina’s family from their holiday photos last fall at Potomac Overlook Regional Park. Gina saw my post about hosting mini sessions with the cherry blossoms this spring & contacted me to take photos of her little ones. I love having the opportunity to tell the story of a family through multiple shoots!
I met Gina with Alexis & Andrew by the MLK Memorial on the Friday just before peak bloom on Sunday. We walked towards the FDR Memorial where we were able to capture photos of the kids with the beautiful blossoms & even the Jefferson Memorial in the background.
These two tiny humans are pretty much ol’ pros now that this is our second shoot. They were a delight to photograph & I’m excited with how their D.C. cherry blossoms family photos turned out!
