HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!

Lately I’ve been exploring the notion that everything happens as it’s supposed to, according to a predestined plan dreamed up by the universe. I see examples of this in my everyday life & when I hear stories like Colleen & Chris’s, it strengthens that belief even further. I was honored to be a part of that story when I had the opportunity to photograph their Georgetown wedding ceremony late last week.
When I met Colleen for lunch a couple weeks prior to their ceremony, she told me the story of how she met Chris & how they came to plan their wedding, and it sounded just like an example of pre-destiny! From Colleen feeling a mysterious push to go out on a first date with Chris, even though she had a visitor in town staying with her, to their instant connection, and both revealing they just *knew* they were meant to be as soon as they met, it’s evident this romance was written in the stars.
They met on 9.23, got engaged on 12.23, and celebrated at their Georgetown wedding ceremony last week on 3.23! Close friends & family joined them at the historic 1789 Restaurant to support & watch over them as they said their I Do’s.
Just prior to the ceremony, the bride & groom braved the early spring chill for a few portraits along the side streets surrounding the restaurant. This was my first real interaction with Colleen & Chris together & let me tell you, it was photography magic! These two love birds are so clearly smitten with each other. I barely had to say a word! They were giggling, whispering sweet nothings, adoringly looking one another in the eye. They needed zero direction because they were clearly having the time of their lives, all on their own <3
Thank you to Colleen & Chris for the honor of capturing this sweet portion of your love story! And to everyone else, be sure to check back next week to see more photos of this lovely couple when I share images from their reception/party at another Georgetown landmark, City Tavern Club.
