HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
My alarm went off this morning & the first thing I thought was, “what day is it? Why is my alarm going off?! It’s the weekend!!” But no, no it’s not the weekend anymore. I could definitely use more weekend, but I’m actually happy today is Monday & the start of a fresh week!
Last week & into this weekend I had the honor of working with some truly wonderful clients! People who were excited for their photo shoots & showed up ready to strike a pose! haha Although I worked throughout the day on Friday, I consider my weekend to have started Friday morning, when I met Gina & her kids at the MLK Memorial for photos with the cherry blossoms. You might remember this family from their holiday photo shoot in the fall. I was excited to see them again when Gina reached out for photos with the cherry blossoms! Look at these two cutie pie tiny humans!
Friday night was the typical #solopreneur Friday night: takeout, work, pup snuggles, & bed early. I had another cherry blossoms session Saturday morning to rest up for! I met Jill, her hubby, & baby, the lovely Miss Alex, bright & early for their cherry blossom session. This time we met by the paddleboats where the trees were in bloom & we had beautiful views of the Jefferson Memorial.
Check back to see more of this family & the cherry blossoms on the blog tomorrow!
I actually woke up Saturday morning feeling quite under the weather. I was feeling OK at the cherry blossoms session, but I think my yoga class pushed me over the edge & by mid-afternoon I was feeling pretty awful. I had Colleen & Chris’ wedding reception to photograph that evening, so I took a nap, got some rest, chugged lots of water, & downed some Advil… and rallied!
I actually photographed Colleen & Chris’ wedding ceremony last week on Thursday, & was excited to see them again with their family & friends on Saturday for their reception. This couple is so sweet & so special. With the way they look at each other, they are destined for a beautiful life together <3
You’ll see more of Chris & Colleens ceremony this week on Wednesday, and the reception next week, so check back in to see more of these happy newlyweds giving all the love vibes!
Sunday was a day of rest! I actually got very little sleep & decided to call off all plans for the day to rest up & try to feel better for the week ahead. And it worked! It’s Monday morning & I’m feeling about 50% better. So while I could use more weekend, I think things are only going up from here! Have a great Monday everyone!
