HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
I love a whirlwind romance for the same reason I love courthouse weddings: the romanticism! There is something irresistibly romantic about being so in love, so enthralled, & so head-over-heels for the person you love that you must dedicate yourself to them wholly & fully, and do so as soon as possible. This Valentine’s Day marriage proposal story has all of those feels & more!
Steve & Daniela met this past summer through work. As most workplace love stories go, they were acquaintances, then friendly, and enjoyed their relationship as it developed naturally. (For some reason I’m picturing a Jim / Pam type romance, a la The Office. Minus Roy, of course.) Before they knew it, they found themselves dating!
I believe Steve to be a true romantic, as his ideal proposal was to take place on Valentine’s Day! What more perfect day to acknowledge & celebrate your unique, precious love than on the day that honors it with a holiday? Steve was so excited to pop the question & had lots of great ideas for how to do so. When he mentioned a water view & the Key Bridge, I knew this was going to make for one beautiful & memorable proposal!
So just this Tuesday, as love filled the air, Steve got down on one knee and asked Daniela to be his wife. The sun setting behind them was the perfect backdrop for Steve’s Valentine’s Day marriage proposal, perfectly adding to the mood of love & romance.
We took the opportunity of being in Georgetown to wander the winding cobblestone roads, taking portraits of these two love birds tucked into alleyways & perched on bridges. Stealing snuggles & kisses as we created photographs to commemorate this special part of their love story. We even zipped over to the National Sculpture Garden to take a few pics with Robert Indiana’s AMOR sculpture. The perfect icing on their romantic proposal!
Congratulations to Steve & Daniela! Best wishes for many more romantic Valentine’s Days together <3
