Being part of a group of motivated business people who are happy to network & look out for your business with the same intensity as they garner business for themselves is such a wonderful opportunity. One such business venture my local chapter of BNI recently put together was an event for northern VA Realtor headshots & networking, and they asked yours truly to be the official photographer!
I’ve been a part of Business Networking International, or BNI, for almost a year & a half, and have found it to be a wonderful tool to grow my business & become more involved in my community. I get to know local business owners who are just as passionate & serious about growing their businesses as I am, and lemme tell ya – it’s a breath of fresh air! We meet on a weekly basis to get to know each other’s businesses so we keep each other at the forefront of our minds when we know our clients, family, & friends need assistance. We love passing referrals & our philosophy of givers gain is the perfect example of positive business karma.
The Real Estate ‘power team’ within the group put on a networking event for northern VA realtor headshots. The team all pitched in to cover my fee & gave away a limited number of headshots to their realtor clients – for free! How brilliant is that?! Grace of New World Title & Escrow (you may remember then from their company picnic back in September), Chris from MVB Mortgage (who happens to be the winner of Arlington Magazine’s Best of Arlington 2017 Mortgage Brokers), and Max from the Olson Insurance Agency, all participated to put together the event. Red velvet cookies and all!
We totally lucked out and got a gorgeous, warm, sunny day in early December, so we were able to be outside & be totally comfortable. Love when that happens! I had the pleasure of working with the Realtors in five minute intervals & had such a great time getting to know each person & learn a little about their business in the short time we spent together. They were all great sports as we quickly went through four different poses with just two or three different backdrops. We were able to get enough variety that they had some choices when it came to their final photos & I’m so proud of how they turned out!
Thank you to Grace, Chris, & Max for putting on a fun, organized, business-focused event! Can’t wait to do it again!
