HI, I'M RACHEL!

I think it says a lot about a family when they are willing to invite you into their home, their neighborhood, to capture holiday family photos. It makes so much sense, right? What better place to capture memories with your family than in your own backyard? In your own stomping grounds, as they say. Natalie’s idea for her holiday family photos this year was to capture her, her hubs, & young daughter around their home & it worked out beautifully!
I met Natalie, her hubby Chris, and their daughter, Anna, bright and early one Sunday morning (after a slight google Maps mishap!) at their home in Arlington. From there we had fun traipsing around their neighborhood taking photos! Natalie loves photos with nature in the background, so we made sure to include lots of greenery & even piles of fallen autumn leaves. And we were able to incorporate lots of Anna’s favorite things, as you’ll see.
From wagon rides, to swing sets, to rolling around in a pile of leaves, and playing with Winnie the Pooh, this shoot had it all! We were even able to stop by one of Anna’s favorite spots, the bus stop!, for a few pics with her mom and dad. So sweet!
Natalie mentioned she was looking for a few posed portraits, but wanted more candid shots, which is right up my photography alley! I love providing my families with not only posed shots to use for their holiday cards, but with casual, spur-of-the-moment type photos that really capture their essence as a family. These images show off how they interact & how they love on each other. Those are the true memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you to this stylish & fun loving local family for inviting me into your ‘hood to capture these memories for you. Happy holidays! <3
