One thing I love about photography is how it brings people together – or back together, in some cases. I met Idelisse back in 2010 at trapeze class! Yes folks, I used to take trapeze lessons. But I digress. A mutual friend, Ricardo, introduced us when he invited Idelisse to one of our classes. So when she contacted me over Facebook for their Crystal City family photos session this fall, I was excited to see her again, as well as to meet her new hubby & three month old son, Nicolas. What a reunion!
Idelisse has had a pretty exciting life since I saw her last! I’ve been able to keep up with her on Facebook to see all of the celebrations she’s experienced over the years. She got engaged to her now husband, Alexis, got married, and recently they had their son, Nicolas. There was so much to commemorate in their Crystal City family photos this year!
Idelisse & Alexis were so looking forward to having their family portrait done, that they drove all the way from their beautiful home in Clarksburg, MD, to meet me in Crystal City! We definitely made the most of their drive & took advantage of the beautiful magic hour light the late autumn sun was giving us.
While Idelisse is gorgeous & so warm, and Alexis is one handsome dude, the star of the show on this day was definitely baby Nicolas! He was dressed to the nines, looking so dapper in his tiny gingham button up & dark wash blue jeans – I mean, check out his little shoes! He was so quick to laugh & played along so well for his photos, he made the whole shoot a pleasure for all of us. Idelisse & Alexis are two lucky parents!
We wrapped our session with a quick selfie to send to Ricardo, letting him know we wished he was there. So fun! And last but not least, I’d love to wish Idelisse a very happy day, for today is her birthday! Have a wonderful day, a fantastic year, & enjoy your photos! <3
