So, apparently Greenwell State Park family photos are the thing to do in southern Maryland! Honestly, it’s worth coming from far and wide to take photos at this park because the views are stunning! I’m so happy Erin & her hubby, Mike, chose this spot for their family photos. It was the perfect backdrop to their laughter & smiles, all of which I was able to capture during our shoot!
Mike contacted me around Mother’s Day this year to book a Greenwell State Park family photos session for the fall. That was to be his gift to Erin for Mother’s Day. I had the honor of photographing Mike & Erin’s daughter, Charleigh, when she was a newborn, so I was super excited to take photos of them just over a year later. By the way, what a sweet, thoughtful gift that was! I may be biased, but I think the gift of photography is one of the best things you can give. Not only are you making memories at your photo shoot, you get tangible memories to keep for forever. Great idea, Mike!
I met the Goldsmiths along with Erin’s mother & her hubby at Greenwell State Park at magic hour on an unseasonably warm day at the end of October. I hadn’t ever been to the park before, but Erin kindly did some reconnaissance for me the night before. She took Charleigh & walked around, scouting the spots where she wanted to set up for photos. She sent me some cellphone pics, which got me *super* excited to take photos for them there the next day. Let me tell you – seeing this place in person was ten times better than I expected! It’s gorgeous.
I have to say, I had the best time at this shoot. The views & backdrops were a plus, but the real magic came in the dynamic shared amongst this obviously close knit family. There was so much laughter, so many natural smiles, and baby Charleigh was a dream to photograph. She is one happy baby!
Thank you to the Goldsmiths for making this shoot so fun! You made my job easy! And these gorgeous photos are nothing if not a testament to your connection as a family. <3
