HI, I'M RACHEL!

Am I the only one who feels like screaming from the rooftop, “YES!! YASSSS!!! It’s freakin’ summer time y’all!!!” Yes? Anyone? Well I’m not ashamed. For some reason, summer time makes me feel more alive. Maybe it’s all the vitamin D I’m absorbing from laying out, walking my dog, or wearing less clothing, allowing more of my skin to see the sunlight. Or maybe it’s the warm weather & longer days that make me feel like getting out & doing stuff instead of hiding indoors from the cold. Whatever it is, summer & I have a connection and I’m ready to celebrate it! Today I’m sharing some of my favorites for summer photo inspiration.
I love taking photos of people during special times in their lives. It’s an honor to get to be around people who are happy and celebrating moments like their marriage, engagement, a pregnancy, or pushing forward in their business or personal lives with professional headshots. I feel that people should go all out to celebrate these times in their lives & professional photography sessions are a great way to do so, as well as to guarantee they’ll have physical representations of their memories for years to come. I love this work & feel it’s oh so important. That work needs to be inspired by something, and as I’ve mentioned before, two of the most inspiring things to me are nature & travel, & the best time of year for both of those things is SUMMER time!
I love getting outdoors with my camera in hand and exploring new places or exploring familiar places in new ways. Even if it’s my 18th time visiting somewhere, I know I’ve changed since the last time I was there, which brings new perspective & skill to the photos I’ll take. And to me, there’s no better way to document a trip or vacation than to take photos… everywhere I go! I love traveling in the summertime because the weather offers so much opportunity to be out & about, and I love taking photos in the summer because nature is truly at its best during this lush season.
So for today’s summer photo inspiration you’re going to see pictures I’ve taken close to home or far away, all taken while exploring mother nature or a new or favorite town in the warm months of the year. Between the vibrant colors, cool blue of the water, or blossoming flowers, I think each and everyone of these photos screams summertime.
And remember, if ever you would like to purchase one of these photos as a print, contact meĀ and we can discuss details.
