Where do I begin with trying to put into words the wedding between Allison & Amir Shawn last weekend at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, PA? Let’s try this: Stunning. FUN. Elegant. Love-filled. That’s a good start!
Allison & Amir Shawn met as students in the political science Ph.D. program at the University of Chicago. They soon transitioned from being colleagues to friends to getting engaged at the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool in Chicago, where Amir Shawn performed a magic trick, turning a mere rock into Allison’s sparkling sapphire engagement ring!
Next came the heartwarming yet elegant black tie affair at one of the most stunning, picturesque wedding venues I’ve ever seen. Somewhere between working on her doctorate and him being a senior fellow at Georgetown University, this scholarly couple, with the help of Allison’s mom Sandra & wedding coordinator Kim Martir of Details Made Simple, put together the perfect mix of style, fun, and class with their wedding ceremony & reception. There were thoughtful, heartfelt toasts – the bride’s sister knocked it out of the park! – lively music & dancing (totally hard for this wedding photographer to resist!), and exceptionally tasty food. It was all an A+.
It was truly an honor to be present for & capture this wedding for such an in-love, in-sync couple.
Much love & congratulations to Allison & Amir!
Thanks to all of the vendors who made this wedding so amazing!
