HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
I think I’ve mentioned it before, but the added bonus that comes along with shooting newborn sessions is the time I get to spend staring at adorable baby faces while editing the photos. As if spending time with these amazing little bundles isn’t prize enough, I get to relive the magic of their snugglieness for hours while processing. And doing so with this tiny girl, Aria, was a true treat!
Aria’s mom, Peggy, contacted me just a few days after her new baby was born, upon recommendation of fellow REHP alum, Nina, from this spring’s famed cherry blossom photos. Nina was kind enough to recommend me via a local mommy-focused list serve, which I very much appreciate! Peggy was looking to capture some natural photos of her newborn baby girl, along with a few select portraits of the family to use for prints. She let me know she prefers natural, un-posed portraits, which is right up my alley, so I was super excited to work with them!
Aria’s big brother, Oliver, was along for the fun as well. He was fully prepared to snuggle, kiss on, and hold his new baby sister, and she loved every second of it! Aria (how beautiful is that name, by the way?!) was a true dream to photograph – she slept pretty much the entire time! She was completely content to just go with the flow & happy to let me capture her in her most peaceful state: fast asleep.
The only regret I have from this photo shoot is that we didn’t make time for photos with the family guinea pigs! Haha Now that would’ve made for an interesting shoot!
Thank you to Peggy, Luke, Oliver, and baby Aria for allowing me to capture these special moments in your family’s history.
