Welcome to the last post in my series on photo shoot outfit ideas. I’m sharing my favorite all encompassing tip today, and that’s to use Pinterest for your photo shoot outfit planning! I know that’s not exactly a mind-blowing, shocker of a tip, but I do have some great ideas for how to use Pinterest for photo shoot outfit planning. Today I’m giving you a five step process for how you can do this!
It’s true Pinterest is a great place to get ideas for photo shoot outfit planning, but it’s also a great place to see how those ideas are implemented. You can find pictures of people who are your size or shape or have your skin tone and you can see how different shaped clothes, colors, and patterns work before you marry yourself to an idea or buy an outfit. You can experiment before committing and for that reason alone, I think Pinterest is brilliant for photo shoot outfit planning!
Here are the five steps for how you can use Pinterest to help plan outfits for your next photo session.
STEP 1: Create a board – whether it’s public or private – specifically for planning your next photo session outfit(s).
STEP 2: Look for pieces of clothing or outfits you love that are already on Pinterest and save your favorites to your photo session board. (My boards with photo shoot outfit ideas are perfect for this! Click here to see them.)
STEP 3: Decide whether you want to buy something new, use a rental service, or borrow from Rent the Runway. Then go to the Pinterest boards belonging to the stores you would buy from or the places you would rent from, and pin some outfits from them to your photo session board.
TIP: Experiment with complementing colors, mixing subtle patterns, and place those things all next to each other on one board to see how they will look together before making any purchases.
STEP 4: Start putting together outfits for yourself and then coordinate those outfits with what your partner or family members should wear.
STEP 5: Now it’s time to buy new pieces of clothing, choose what to rent from one of the rental services, or hit up Rent the Runway. And don’t forget to accessorize!
