HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!

All of my clients and all of my photo shoots have a special place in my heart (my heart has gotten really big! Awesome side effect of being a photographer!), let me just say that up front. But there’s something extra special about coming full circle with clients and getting to capture multiple sweet events in their lives. Such is the case with Ashley & Antonio’s Wilkes Street Tunnel maternity photos session that took place early last month.
Ashley and Antonio have experienced some big life events over the past several years, from getting engaged to celebrating their wedding and now welcoming a baby who is due later this month! They’re literally living that old adage, “first comes loves, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage.” Haha! I just feel honored and privileged to be the one there to document these precious occasions for them.
The awesome thing about working with clients through multiple life events is that everyone gets to know each other! I knew Ashley would have an amazing vision and style for her shoot, and she did not disappoint! I knew Antonio would look at Ashley with such love in his eyes during the shoot, it would make my heart smile when editing their images. And they knew I was mad about magic hour, so they happily drove out to Alexandria on a Sunday evening to make it happen.
We initially planned their session to take place at a local garden, but guess what? Said local garden closes at 4pm, wayyyy before magic hour! At the last minute we switched our meeting spot to old town Alexandria, so we could get Wilkes Street Tunnel maternity photos instead. We still managed to find some pretty summer blooms to feature in the photos and got the bonus of the tunnel shots as well. Pretty cool!
Thank you to Ashley and Antonio for trusting me with your family memories. And I can’t wait to see you guys rock this next chapter of your lives together!
